Transitional Spaces

Mercy Gallery, Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT

Opening Reception January 9th, 6:45pm-8:45pm in the Richmond Art Center

Transitional Spaces, an exhibition of drawings and sculpture by artists Cori Champagne, Joan Harmon, and Lindsey Wolkowicz, will be presented in the Sue and Eugene Mercy Jr. Gallery from January 9 through February 9, 2018.

According to the artists’ statement, “transitional space is defined as space between an interior and exterior, acting as both a boundary and a link between states of being or surrounds.” Through their artwork, the three artists represent “identities, bodies, and boundaries in a state of transition,” which incorporates objects from daily human life. Their intent, according to their statement, is to “create spaces that feel familiar and impossible, substantive and impermanent” to observers.

An opening reception for the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 6:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. in the Richmond Art Center. For more information, including gallery hours, connect to the Mercy Gallery webpage.
